What is your process like?
Our approach is straightforward: we believe that fostering a strong, personal connection is the cornerstone of any successful partnership, and our goal is an event that exceeds your expectations. From the moment planning begins, consider us your new best friend throughout the entire process. We are committed to understanding your vision, aligning with your budget, and making informed decisions that are always in your best interest. We strive to build a relationship that allows your event to be a genuine and heartfelt reflection of you.
What does the average planning event timeline look like?
For a wedding, we advise planning 12-18 months out. However, we can produce a wedding in under a year. While we only take on a limited number of weddings a year, we have limited dates available in 2025 and are booking quickly for 2026. In short, we recommend connecting with us as soon as you begin ideating on your event so we can ensure you the most seamless production timeline.
do you only plan weddings?
While the bulk of our events are weddings, we produce celebrations of all kinds. From corporate and non-profit events to intimate dinner parties - no fête is too large or too small for us.
Are your services offered
year-round?
We are a full-service, year-round event planning company. While Mount Desert Island is seasonal, we plan events around the country throughout the year. Let’s chat!
Are your services limited to just the New England area?

How do you select your vendors?
We have trusted relationships with our vendors as each has been thoroughly vetted prior to working with us. We will only ever recommend vendors who we have interviewed and have both personal and working relationships with.
Are you available for a consultation call to see if you’re the right fit for our needs?
Of course! All inquiries start with a consultation. We invite you to contact us and provide us with the known details of your event. From there, we’ll schedule an introductory call where we will discuss the existing vision, budget parameters, venue (if applicable) and any other details you’d like to share. Should our services be a match we will then work on a timeline and proposal for your event.
What is the average per person spend for the weddings you produce at R.L. Sisson Events?
While every wedding and event is unique—shaped by factors such as guest count, venue, catering, and various other considerations—our typical starting cost is $1,200 per guest for the wedding day itself. This rate applies exclusively to the wedding day and does not include any pre- or post-wedding events or associated planning fees.
Do you work with LGBTQIA+ couples?
Absolutely! We believe that love is love, and we celebrate it in all its beautiful forms.
Are you insured?
R.L. Sisson Events is fully insured.
We’re planning an event from afar, do you offer virtual planning?
Yes, with our clientele being from around the world, by nature our planning process is almost entirely virtual with the exception of in-person meetings as we shore up details leading up to the event.
